Abarth 124 Spider
Why 7.0: The volume model the limited-run 124 GT elsewhere on this shelf was built on top of: same Mazda MX-5 platform, same turbo 1.4, soft top instead of a carbon hardtop, and 41,321 built globally over four years. Sold in the US as the Fiat 124 Spider Abarth — one of the only Abarth-badged cars America ever officially got — it's cheap, plentiful, and gets driven like the roadster it is.

Child seats · ISOFIX
There aren't any — strict two-seater.
No anchors, and on most of these no passenger airbag either — the car is too stripped for the question to arise. Whatever goes in that seat goes in on a harness or a belt.
Derived from production years and seating layout, not a per-car source. ISOFIX was standardised as ISO 13216 in 1997, required on new EU model types from 2011 and on all new EU cars from 2014.
The long version
Fiat needed a new platform-mate to replace the long-dead original 124 Spider, and rather than build one alone it went back to Mazda for the fourth-generation MX-5 chassis. Abarth's version, revealed alongside the standard Fiat at the 2016 Geneva show, added a Garrett-turbocharged 1.4 MultiAir four making 168 hp, a limited-slip differential, a Bilstein-tuned chassis and a dual-mode exhaust, all in a 1,060 kg body barely changed in silhouette from the Miata underneath. Unlike almost everything else in this Abarth lineup, this one crossed the Atlantic: Fiat sold it in the US and Canada as the 'Fiat 124 Spider Abarth' trim, 164 hp with a sport exhaust, one of a small handful of Abarth-badged products America ever officially received. Mazda built all 41,321 examples in Hiroshima before assembly moved to Turin for finishing, a genuinely high volume next to the four-figure runs everything else on this page saw, and that volume is exactly why it's cheap now — clean examples trade in the mid-$20,000s, a fraction of what the limited-edition 124 GT commands. The GT got the hardtop and the collector attention; this is the one people actually drop the top on and drive.
