Why 5.8: The same 9,000 rpm engine as the RS, minus the wing and the statement. Touring buyers order manuals and drive them — the delete-option spec as an ownership filter.

Sound

The same 4.0 flat-six to 9,000 rpm as the winged GT3, running the same exhaust — deleting the wing changes the badge, not the noise. It is capped by exactly what caps that car: flat-six intensity rather than melody. So it lands level with its winged twin.

Rear seatsNot available

The original 2021–2024 Touring was a strict two-seater; a rear seat wasn't even orderable. The 992.2 facelift (2024 on) finally added one as a cost option with ISOFIX, but it's not standard and doesn't cover the earlier cars this nameplate mostly represents.

Front passenger seatOptional

The standard 992 front-passenger option applies — ISOFIX bracket and airbag key switch — usable as long as you skip the optional bucket seats.

The base, winged GT3 has never had a rear-seat option at all — only Touring ever got one, and only recently.

The long version

Deleting the wing costs you the parking-lot recognition a GT3 usually trades on, so ordering a Touring has always self-selected for buyers who wanted the drivetrain more than the audience — the manual take rate backs that up. Allocation mania still pulled some flippers into the pool early, which is why values spiked hard right after launch before settling back down as the frenzy passed. What's left skews toward people who actually wanted a 9,000 rpm engine without the wing's commentary, and they use it exactly the way Porsche built it to be used.
