Why 8.0: The same 3.0 as the base car with larger turbochargers, a different intake and 420 hp, plus the sports exhaust, 20-inch wheels and optional rear-axle steering lifted from the Turbo. It is the 991.2 with the most hardware per dollar, which is why it is also the one most often ordered as a daily.

Sound

The S got bigger turbochargers and a flap-valved sports exhaust; flaps open, it is deeper and boomier than the base car, with proper overrun pops. But it is still the 991.2 story: two turbos where the 991.1 S had a free-breathing 3.8, and nothing above 5,500 rpm worth chasing. A clear step down from its predecessor.

Rear seatsStandard

Two ISOFIX positions on the outer rear seats — jump seats, so the question is whether the seat physically fits behind a front occupant, not whether the anchors are there.

Front passenger seatVaries

The rear anchors are the supported route — the manual points child seats there, and front-passenger ISOFIX is the exception rather than the rule. A belt-mounted seat up front needs the airbag off, and cars with a rear row don't always fit a deactivation switch, precisely because the rear seats exist.

Derived from production years and seating layout, not a per-car source. ISOFIX was standardised as ISO 13216 in 1997, required on new EU model types from 2011 and on all new EU cars from 2014.

The long version

The 991.2 Carrera S is the point where the ordinary 911 stopped revving and started shoving, and the reaction split along predictable lines. Reviewers missed the 991.1's 7,800 rpm top end and said so; buyers took the 368 lb-ft and the quieter cabin and drove it more than they had driven the car before. That is the pattern the index sees. These cars accumulate miles — PDK, Sport Chrono, rear-steer and all — and the used market treats them as fast transport rather than as investments, because the turbocharged engine cut the last-of-the-naturally-aspirated narrative dead. Manual cars command a premium, as they do across every 991, but nobody is wrapping a 991.2 S in a car cover for 2040. It is a 420 hp 911 that costs sixty-something thousand dollars and gets used as one, and the 992 that replaced it did nothing to change that.
