Why 7.1: DougScore 58 understates the enthusiast pull. It is cheap enough to use, fast enough to terrify, and foundational to AMG's 2000s myth.

Sound

The M113K's Lysholm blower lays a hard whine over a deep 5.4-litre V8 woofle, and the downshift bark is unmistakably AMG. But Mercedes silenced it to executive standards and it stops at 6,200 rpm, which leaves it below the naturally aspirated 63s that followed.

Rear seatsStandard

Two ISOFIX anchors on the outer rear seats — a genuine Mercedes OEM ISOFIX rear component (part A2118600387) exists specifically for the W211.

Front passenger seatNot available

No ISOFIX confirmed on the front passenger seat, though the W211 does carry Mercedes' AKSE transponder recognition there for an approved child seat.

W211 wagons could also be ordered with Mercedes' fold-out integrated rear booster seats, a separate feature from ISOFIX entirely.

The long version

The W211 E55 is the AMG sedan people still recommend with a grin and a warning. The supercharged M113K gives it huge lazy torque, the chassis stays executive-car calm, and the running costs keep it honest. These cars are not museum pieces; they are bought by people who want absurd speed for normal-car money and accept the consequences. It is arguably the most important gap in the AMG sweep because it explains the whole supercharged era better than any brochure halo.
