7.8 / 10
Involvement 7.0 / 10

Why 7.8: Bought by people who need one car to do everything and mean it — airport runs at 155 mph (250 km/h) averages. Docked only because half the appeal is the badge on the boot.

Sound

The S63 is muscular and bassy once the exhaust valves open, and there is a proper hard edge to it under load. But BMW pipes a large share of what reaches the cabin through the speakers, and with the turbos in the vee the real note stays flat to 7,200.

Child seats · ISOFIX

Rear seatsStandard

Both outer rear seats carry ISOFIX lower anchors plus top tether, rated to F3/R3 (i-Size compatible). Middle rear seat is belt-only.

Front passenger seatNot available

Front passenger seat has no ISOFIX — BMW's own compatibility chart marks every lateral-fixture and i-Size category 'no' for that seat. A belt-fitted child seat is permitted there, seat racked back per the manual.

M5 CS swaps the middle rear seat for a second bucket seat but keeps the same outer ISOFIX points.

The long version

Every M5 generation follows the same script: buy it new for the badge and the numbers, watch it shed a third of its value within a few years, then hand it to a second owner who wanted the car all along and finally gets it at a discount. This one is already most of the way through that cycle, down from the low-90s to the mid-50s, which is exactly when Bargain Window kicks in. That second-owner crowd tends to actually use it, road trips, daily commutes, the odd track day, because they did not pay the badge tax the first owner did.
