Why 1.8: Bugatti retuned the Chiron's chassis for more downforce and cut roughly 35kg to build what it called the sportiest Bugatti yet — then sold all 40, pre-reveal, exclusively to existing Chiron and Veyron owners at a premium of about $2M over a Chiron. The buyers who could write that check already had somewhere else to put their track-day miles.

Sound

Sixteen cylinders and four turbochargers produce an enormous induction rush directly behind your head, and nothing else sounds that large. But it is almost all intake and boost, with no exhaust melody and only 6,700 rpm, so sheer scale is all it really offers.

There aren't any — strict two-seater.

Front passenger seatVaries

The only position there is, so makers of this era equip it: expect a passenger-airbag cut-off (key switch or occupant sensing) as standard, because there is no rear row to point children to. Whether the seat itself carries ISOFIX anchors is maker-specific — Porsche bundles them with its child-seat preparation, Ferrari sold them as an option, others are belt-mount only with the airbag off.

Derived from production years and seating layout, not a per-car source. ISOFIX was standardised as ISO 13216 in 1997, required on new EU model types from 2011 and on all new EU cars from 2014.

The long version

The Divo is a genuine engineering exercise: the same 1,479hp quad-turbo W16 as the Chiron, but with more downforce, retuned suspension, and enough weight cut to push lateral grip to a claimed 1.6g versus the Chiron's 1.5g. Bugatti leaned hard into that story at launch, and the road tests that got to drive it agreed the chassis is sharper than the Chiron's. None of that changed who bought it. Allocation went exclusively to Bugatti's existing top clients before the car was even publicly revealed, the same multi-hypercar collector base that treats a Chiron as a garage centerpiece rather than a track tool — and a car this expensive, this rare, and this associated with concours lawns doesn't get driven into a corner just because the engineers built it to take one. It debuted at public auction in August 2025 for $8.557 million, more than triple the original price, which tells its own story: this is an appreciating asset first, a corner-carver a distant second.
