Why 8.0: DougScore 58, matching the i30 N's chassis to a shape America couldn't get any other way. Depreciation has been brutal and nobody driving one seems to mind — it was bought to be thrashed, not preserved.

The long version

America never got the i30 N, so the Veloster N's three-door shell was the only way to buy this specific N-division chassis new — a detail that shaped who bought one from day one: people who'd been reading about the European car for years and wanted the closest thing available here. Hyundai killed the Veloster nameplate after 2022, which capped the used supply early and turned every surviving example into the last of a discontinued line, yet prices still slid the way every honest hot hatch's prices slide. Nobody is trailering a Veloster N to a concours lawn. It gets tracked, commuted in, and occasionally curbed by twenty-something owners who bought it because it was the cheapest real manual N product sold in the US, exactly as Hyundai intended.
