7.4 / 10
Involvement 7.2 / 10

Why 7.4: Multimatic DSSV dampers and a track-specific aero package turned the already-potent ZL1 into the fastest Camaro ever built around a corner, a genuinely serious track tool GM barely marketed as one. Values have held up better than any other Camaro trim, which is saying very little for the nameplate.

The long version

The 1LE package existed for one reason, lap times, and Chevrolet backed it up with Multimatic spool-valve dampers borrowed from actual racing programs rather than a badge and a spoiler. That seriousness attracted an owner base that actually uses the aero and the front splitter for what they were built for, tracking these cars at a rate most muscle coupes never see. Camaro resale values are famously weak across the board, but the 1LE has held its ground better than any other trim, and with the whole nameplate discontinued in 2024, the record-chasing cars from this run are quietly becoming the ones worth having kept.
